What do you do for a living?

This question always makes me really uncomfortable and I never know quite how to answer it. For most people the answer is a simple one or two word response – I’m a computer programmer or I’m a sales rep for Xerox. But for me it’s a terribly complicated response that I rarely know how to formulate, and most of the time it’s a different answer depending on who’s asking the question.

Here’s why this is such a hard question for me. My main “job” is running LuxBox, but I also work with a local salon on their marketing each week plus I help my mom’s company with the business and payroll side. Oh, and in my spare time I’ve started nannying again until we move to Belize. Since I don’t do just one thing, it’s hard to give myself an “occupation” when asked.
And it’s pretty interesting how often I’m asked what I do. Just this past Saturday when I went to get a massage one of the questions on the intake form was “Occupation”. I was tempted to leave it blank, but instead I just put business owner.

During my massage I came up with the perfect answer to this question. What do you do? I hustle…hard.
